I'm seriously considering getting another piggy today. I was at petsmart yesterday and there was this pig who was so adorable and sweet. She seemed really relaxed. I'm debating if i should get her. I only have one pig right now and often times i feel bad for her because I leave my house at 630 am for work and dont get home until 630 pm so I"m gone 12 hours......... i'm probably going to petsmart in a few hours with my bf to show him the pig. I just dont know!!!!!! please give me your opinions and comments.

I got her but my bf is pretty positive she is pregnant so I'm really sad. I dont want to have any babies but I feel bad taking her back to the store after having her today. I'm really sad by this decision. It was hard enough decision to get one more pig, now that my bf says she is most likely pregnant I feel nervous because I dont want to have to find a home for the babies and i cant keep them!!!!! Would it be bad to return her to the store?

I don't know if theyd' take her back, I've heard some shops refuse to take a guinea-pig back. Are you sure she's pregnant? I'm not saying you're lying or anything, just it would be a shame if you had to return her and you weren't totally sure she was pregnant.

At PetSmart you have 14 days to return any animal. I'm pretty sure she is pregnant, we could feel them moving. I think I am going to keep her though but I am really nervous about this. I would feel bad taking her back especially if she is pregnant ..... Have any of your pigs ever given birth? ADVICE WELCOMED!

My guinea pig, Reese, gave birth and I kept the babies y and Reese only had 2!! So I kept them and sadly one died later on but anyways, my piggy was a pet store one too, sand she was from PetSmart!! Maybe you can keep the babies if there is only two?? Usually the first litter is 2 babies or 3 babies!!

Sometimes they might even only have one. Or when they're born you could put posters up or something to advertise them as for sale. If you started advertising them as for sale when they were only a week or two old, then you would have at least a month anyway until they could go, so you'd have more time to find homes for them. 4 litters have been born at my house, none of them planned (Roy and Bibbles escaped and got into the girls run) and although we have had 2 stillborns, there is always a chance of that, but if you're guinea-pig is the right age (under 1) and you give her extra veggies and make sure she eats lots and drinks lot she should be fine. Could you post a picture of her? Good luck with the guinea-pig babies

Wow Scribbles was huge!! Shae your link wouldnt work for me, it was saying I'm no longer logged into AOL? Anyway, Lola isnt big at all like that but right now she is on my lap and I can feel things moving from time to time but maybe that is her tummy rumbling? Okay so right now she is dead scared, doesnt make a peep doesnt move ... from time to time i hear her taking in deep sniffs like she is realy checking out some smells but i guess thats normal? Here's some pics: i589.photobucket.com/albums/ss337/misspiggy04/Lola004.jpgi589.photobucket.com/albums/ss337/misspiggy04/Lola005.jpg

I would talk to guinea pig breeders in person. If they told you she was preggers, do all the research you can. I'm talking about if someone asked you a question about it you would know right away. Get all the right equipment, etc... Even if there isn't a breeder in your area, I would still be really careful. Good luck!

She looks pregnant to me, but I agree with Hannah if you can speak to other breeders then you would know for sure.

No need to. I'm sure she is, I was holding her a few hours ago and felt them moving from time to time which i hear means they'll be coming soon. I'm nervous, I hope Lola can give birth without hurting herself. I'm not sure of her age but I'd say she is under 8 months. Def not a year yet. Once she has the babies would I be allowed to handle them? I know some animals will eat their babies if they smell human scent on them. Please prepare me for this, I dont know what to expect!! I read the labor is pretty short. I think Lola has two babies in her. Maybe three but def two cause I feel two different things moving in her tummy.

Loads of breeders say you can hold the babies after the mum has cleaned them up, but I always wait 3 days, so that the mum can get used to the babies and they can get used to their surroundings and things like that. It's up to you but I'd at least wait a few hours, to make sure they're all cleaned up and things like that.

I was nervous too when Reese was pregnant, I was in there 24/7, I went in there and there laid two babies next to there momma!! Just wait and if you can try to get a video camera and take a video of them being born! I tried but they gave birth while I was doing school, so when I went in the room they were already 10 minutes old! lol good luck, Misspiggy!!
