Lately my pig is acting weird, i dont know if she is bored or what. I see her just standing along the cage wall where her waterbottle and hay are. She is just standing there (not eating hay or drinking water) rather than relaxing in her pigloo or tent. I woke up in the middle of the night and went to check on her. She was still just standing there - maybe looked more of laying down or something. I couldnt see her eyes to see she if she was asleep or awake. This morning i felt the fleece to see if she liked standing there because maybe the water bottle was dripping water and she liked that but it isnt wet. When i bring her lettuce she runs from the spot to eat it and goes crazy. She is the only pig, do you think she is just plain bored? she has been really squirmy when it comes to being held as well but i highly doubt she has mites; she has no hair loss and doesnt scratch. I dont think she is sick because she eats, pees, poops as normal. She is just being odd "standing" around one spot all the time. I suppose I could go to PetSmart and get another pig this weekend if thats the right thing to do?

Hm... Maybe you could try getting her out more or putting more noisy toys in her cage. If that doesn't work, you could remove the bedding from that area and see if she moves around her cage more. Update us on how she does when you decide what to do!

I'm really considering getting another piggie for her to play with. I was SO close to getting one at petsmart today but i backed out at the last minute. I just dont know what to do. I'm very torn.

Lonliness can drive piggies a bit nuts, i would recommend getting a pig to keep it company. e x

You're right. Guinea pigs are very social creatures. It's recommended by vets that your guinea pig has a play mate.

agree with two above ^ Piggies are really social- they really should have a friend. But make sure its same gender, so you dont accidentally get babies! And generally petstores are...erm... 'not good' at sexing piggies, so probably should find out how to yourself that way you can check for sure.
lettuce know how it goes! Xfaith
